Next-Gen Aston Martin DBS will get 20 extra HP

2013 Aston Martin DB9

The new Aston Martin DBS will get 20 more horsepower and will also be lighter.

The next generation of the DB9 will result in a more powerful DBS version, according to the manufacturer. The 6.0 liter V12 engine will go thru significant changes which will add 20 more HP, combined to a lighter body.

Besides the extra power, the next generation of the DBS will also benefit from improved acceleration, braking, handling and, of course, fuel economy.

The engine’s weight will also be reduced to 10-15 percent, the ending result being about 400 pounds less, or around 180 kilograms.

The exterior styling will be slightly adjusted to match the One-77, which may become Aston Martin’s new flagship.

New, lighter, more powerful and with an exterior design ment to soften our eyes, that seems to be Aston’s main future plan.

Spy shots of a prototype for the new-generation DB9 reveal a more rakish look for the car, as well as a completely revised interior. Expect the DBS to look even more aggressive and come with its own bodykit, exhaust note and alloy wheels.

Look out for the debut of the new Aston Martin DB9 towards the end of next year, with the DBS to follow in early 2013.
