Aston Martin Vantage S Roadster

Aston Martin Vantage S Roadster
Aston Martin has opened up its latest performance car. Arriving hot on the heels of the new V8 Vantage S coupé is this Roadster version.

It joins the hard-top as the most powerful version of the Vantage, and has a new seven-speed Sportshift transmission.

Wider sills, a deeper front splitter and enlarged cooling vents give the new car a more muscular stance. The tightly designed fabric hood is the same as that of the standard Roadster, and folds in less than 30 seconds. It can be operated on the move at speeds of up to 20mph.

With it down, you get to enjoy the Vantage’s V8 bark and delightful exhaust crackle even more – and this character makes the Aston instantly feel special.

Under the bonnet, the 4.7-litre unit is tuned to a potent 430bhp. It really comes into its own from 3,500rpm – where a revised air intake valve opens to deliver greater power – while maximum torque arrives at 5,000rpm.Aston Martin Vantage S Roadster

New Aston Martin V12 Zagato

Aston Martin’s new V12 Zagato endurance race car concept which completed the gruelling Nürburgring 24 hour race last weekend – just weeks after making its premiere at the Villa D’Este Concours last month – will make its British debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 1 July.

Introduced as a modern interpretation of the famous Aston Martin and Zagato collaboration in the 50th anniversary year of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, the V12 Zagato revives a collaboration which has produced some of the most beautiful and sought-after cars in the world. The partnership takes inspiration from the past to create a modern adaptation based on Aston Martin’s ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range: the V12 Vantage. Making its first public appearance at the Villa D’Este Concours last month, the new V12 Zagato won the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes.

Aston Martin Rapide Alaska Test

Aston Martin will showcase the durability of its four-door sportscar, the Rapide, by embarking on a tour of the northernmost state of the USA today.

The entire round-trip journey will cover some 1,230 miles, with much of the trip taking place on the 400 mile Dalton Highway. Running from the town of Fairbanks through to Prudhoe Bay and its oil fields, the road is predominantly used by trucks transporting oil and other natural resources. And with its vast expanses of untamed wilderness and services both few and far between, will prove a harsh climate for the luxury sedan.

Ending at the town of Deadhorse near the Arctic Ocean, the road is one of the country’s most isolated stretches with grades as steep as 12 percent and a peak altitude of 4,739 feet at the Antigun Pass, the famous stretch that crosses the Continental Divide.
