Bond, James Bond, has driven a lot of different cars over the past 50 years, but none more iconic than the Aston Martin DB5 that first appeared in 1964’s Goldfinger. Over the years, the car has returned for cameo appearances in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and the updated version of Casino Royale.
There’s a lot to like about the DB5, including the car’s timeless good looks and sheer elegance. If that’s not enough, its ejection seat, twin machine guns, armor plating, rocket launchers and oil slick generators certainly add to its charm. There may be faster cars on the road, but there aren’t many more difficult to overtake, which is one reason why the original movie car sold for $4.1 million in 2010.
